Trying to Avoid Making Eyes Bleed

Okay, let's get this straight, I'm not good with design.  But, I do know that it is a bad idea to make your readers' eyes hurt.  This is what I've come up with for the background that will hopefully solve that problem.  I know it's not possible to make everybody happy, but I'm hoping for a solid 99%.  :-)

What do you think?  Is this readable and less headache inducing?

  1. I am enjoying the 'open' space while it lasts; white space can be a rarity on the web these days :)

  2. Holly, I'm glad this works for you since I'm keeping it long term. Over the weekend, I darkened the white to a light gray to soften it a bit and changed the font colors a little too. I'm happy with this...my eyes aren't strained and it's a lighter background like the majority wanted. Hope it works for everyone else too!

  3. Big improvement for me at least. BFS, sorry I'm slow but in your what should I select (other than anonymous) where my e mail address doesn't show up?

  4. BillV, try selecting the Name/URL profile. Then enter your name, skip the URL, and hit post. That's should show your name without giving any other info. Hope that works!
